Georgia GDC allows offenders to correspond by mail, subject to inspection and security restrictions. GDC policy does not impose a general limit on the number of letters an offender may correspond through, although disciplinary or security restrictions can apply.
Incoming and outgoing offender mail must contain complete addressing. For incoming mail, use the offender's full name, GDC I.D. number, unabbreviated facility name, facility mailing address, city, state and ZIP, plus the sender's complete return address.
Non-privileged incoming letters are inspected for contraband. Printed material or photocopies included with a letter are generally limited to 25 sheets. Scented mail, mail intentionally stained with lipstick, and pre-stamped envelopes are prohibited.

Visits at state facilities and private prisons are generally scheduled on Saturdays, Sundays and state holidays, using two-hour time blocks through the visitation portal. Confirm the specific facility's current visiting hours before traveling.
